“Frequent Mental Distress” In the Big Apple

A study from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene confirms most of the regional stereotypes I learned from Woody Allen movies: New Yorkers are more prone to mental distress (manifested in symptoms such as anxiety and depression) than the rest of the country. About 1 in 7 New Yorkers describe their mental health as being frequently "not good" compared to about 1 in 10 nationally.
